George II Kentian Bookcase in Mahogany with bevelled glass doors. The deep covetto moulded cornice with carved central neo-classical face with drapes and scroles, above four doors with bevelled glass panes divided by deep thumb moulded bars with cross banded central flat bead, in turn above a pair of slim cock beeded drawers with original brass handles, all resting on a moulded and cross banded plynth with cut out bracket feet.
This bookcase is rare in it's form and an early bit of furniture in Mahogany dating as it does from 1740 very much in the William Kent taste.
