Queen Ann Oak Marriage Cupboard or Deuddarn

Queen Ann Oak Marriage Cupboard or Deuddarn of small size, of pegged and jointed construction in two parts. The upper part with two cupboards with board doors carved with initials H R and  E J within a simulated panel and a central panel carved with the date of 1714, with overhanging hood with carved and stamped frieze and caboshon shaped end drops, the top with pine planks running from front to back. The lower part with two fielded panel drawers above a pair of doors withdoubled fielded panel and with iron H hinges. cast iron drop handles  all later but attractive. There are later repairs here and there, consistant with age but the over all good colour and naive carving is lovely.
