Pair of Chinoiserie Candle Holders

Pair of Chinoiserie Candle Holders in the form of dancing "China Men", holding lotus flower sconces, in carved wood now painted in red and blue and cream, but originally gilded, the animated figures attached to oval ebonised bases (not original). These figures are a rare and good example of late 18thcentury European Chinoiserie, English, circa 1800.
