Chinese Export Painted Trunk

Chinese Export Trunk of small size, made from Camphor wood and covered in leather studded and trimmed with brass, the leather has been painted with borders of flowers on a turquoise gound. These trunks were bought by seaman on the china trade routes. they are rarely decorated like this.
