Pair of Os Du Mouton Chairs in the Louis IV style, in Walnut with faded gilded surface, upholstered in linen, the rectangular back with carved scrole arms on scrole supports leading to square seats suppported on carved scrole legs joined together with double scroled H stretchers, terminating in spade feet. upholstered on linen.
French circa 1870
These chairs were sat on by Dame Judi Dench and Gyles Brandreth at the Petworth Literary Festival, to promote her book "Shakespeare: the man who pays the rent", which makes them priceless!
