Leather Screen, of four folds, the highly decorated printed leather is mounted on ebonised wooden frames, hinged together. The leather has a repeated pattern of twining foliage, vines, flowers and fruit, with Jackdaws and Caterpillars.  This screen of printed or embossed decoration is a 19th century revival of the Spanish fashion for leather decorated walls that date from the times of Charles II and his marriage to Catherine of Braganza.
Provenance: Bramdean House, Hampshire
The screen has been relined and restored.
