Pair of Paintings in Octagonal parcel-gilded moulded frames, depicting the story of Saint Paul in Malta aftrer he was shiprecked on his way to Rome, and him being bitten by a viper and shaking it off. The viper had been disturbed due to the making of a fire. Paul made an impression to onlookers by the significance of surviving a shipreck and a viper's bite. Taken from the Book of Acts of the Apostles, 5 and 6.
