Arts and Crafts Four Poster Bed in the Cotswold Style, finely crafted from Sapele and Maple wood, the squared and shaped bed posts attached to a cast iron frame supporting pine matress base boards, the legs with laminated structure of the two woods joined by head and foot boards, which are ornamented with wavy scolloped top edges of Maple and tipped with Sapele. the faceted bed posts rise up to join the canopy and arched frame which is of tram rail form veneered with maple. The elaborate, yet elegant arched canopy with turned and faceted struts, like opposing billiard cues.
This Queen sized bed is of the finessed quality and craftsmanship and must have been a one off commision.
