Extremely Rare George I Settee in Walnut and upholstered in leather, which transforms into a bed. The simple shield shaped back with studded leather covering above the seat which is supported on a box body with shell carved cabriole legs, with hoof feet, the arms have elegant carved shaped supports and flower detail on the handles. The back is panelled in pine.
To make into a bed, the seat is lifted out, the arms are unlocked and open out on hinges, the back lifts up as a canopy and is supported on iron bars. Then the legs and front panel are pulled forward to open up the hinged bed base onto which a squab matress ( not included) can be laid. Dimensions for the matress are 190 cm length, 118 cm width. The overall dimensions of the bed are 2003 cm length by 135 cm width.
