Oak Settle

Oak Settle, of jointed and pegged construction with a back of 5 fielded panels above a plank seat all supported on post legs joined by stretchers, the front stretcher with central silouette spacer stamped with owner's initials I W, the legs also with chamfer stop ornament, and shaped arms.
Probably Welsh, circa 1700.
