Large Gateleg Table

Large Gateleg Table in Arbutus Wood, the central plank top with book matched boards, two large drop leaves, again with matched boards attached to the top, by original steel butterfly hinges. the top supported on a jointed frame of bobbin turned legs and stretchers.  The leaves are raised and lowered on double bobbin turned gates, attahced to the frame and top on unusual end blocks.
Irish, circa 1700.
This is truly an exceptional example of a gateleg table, in design, construction and condition. to seat eight.
